O Apple Music divulgou sua lista dos 100 melhores álbuns de todos os tempos, completando uma seleção que começou há 10 dias. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1998), o álbum de estreia e único disco de estúdio solo de Lauryn Hill, foi coroado como o melhor de todos.
A curadoria contou com a participação de compositores, produtores, profissionais da indústria e um grupo de hitmakers, incluindo nomes como Pharrell Williams e J Balvin. A plataforma assegurou que as escolhas não foram influenciadas pelas estatísticas de streaming.

Apesar da diversidade internacional, com apenas Bad Bunny representando a língua espanhola, e artistas de diversas partes do mundo, incluindo Europa e Estados Unidos, a lista não reservou espaço para nenhum artista brasileiro.
Zane Lowe e Ebro Darden, do Apple Music, juntaram-se a Nile Rodgers e Maggie Rogers para comentar o top 10. "Não é datado, nem uma fração sequer. Na verdade, parece mais fresco e mais relevante a cada vez que você ouve", disse Lowe sobre o álbum de Hill.
"Ter uma artista como Lauryn Hill no número um, isso significa muito", continuou Rogers. Sucinto, Nile afirmou: "Ela é incrível". Já Darden pontou que o álbum "é muito pessoal": "Ele exemplifica e captura a música popular dos últimos 25 anos, holisticamente. É R&B, é hip-hop, é mulher independente, mulher forte, é atual, é uma amostragem... Acho que é por isso que votei nele como número um".
Hill também comentou sobre a conquista: "Esse é meu prêmio, mas é uma narrativa rica e profunda, e envolve tanta gente, tanto sacrifício, tanto tempo e tanto amor coletivo".
